The goal was to produce a journal of Christian thought on campus that would provide a forum for exploring how faith intersects daily life, and engage the community in a dialogue about faith. The first edition of the journal was printed in the spring of 2008. In the 2008-2009 school year, the team produced an issue every quarter, and improved and expanded the design and vision of the organization. The Stanford chapter now seeks not only to engage the community and inspire a response to the Gospel message through publications, but also through organized events, such as bringing in speakers.

The Journal provides a semi-annual forum for interdisciplinary discussion of global affairs, publishing writing on politics, economics, history, and public policy. Our undergraduate staff directs all aspects of journal production. Academics, policymakers, and institutions around the country receive the 80-page journal in print. Our authors are Stanford students, faculty, affiliates, and alumni; interviewees have included Condoleezza Rice, former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf, WTO Director-General Pascal Lamy, F.W. de Klerk, and Joseph Stiglitz.

2. Bill to Improve Campus Publications - what’s being reinforced

- The Pub Board Directors have the authority to protect the “reputation and operations” of its members. Please, please, please copyedit your layout and content. SEND US THE PDF AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS!

- Website! Please review our Funding Requirements; all groups that receive Publications Board funds must have a website that meets our guidelines.

SJEAA showcases student work, both graduate and undergraduate, on East Asia from all academic disciplines. Beyond academic work, the publication also features editorials, interviews and book reviews. SJEAA seeks submissions pertaining to China / Hong Kong / Taiwan, Japan, Korea, and Southeast Asia. In addition to publishing student articles, SJEAA is also a focal point for students interested in the East Asian region. The organization provides opportunities to meet peers, faculty and alumni with similar interests through dinners and faculty panels and lectures.
